Sunsets and Good Reads

Sometimes things are gritty. Or maybe just busy. And then you don't write for days and days and days, whoops.

For now, a few of my favorite reads from around the inter-webs along with some pictures from a friend's wedding at camp this weekend that are sure to make you swoon.
I'm in a writing group with the amazing lady who wrote this post on Why White Parents Wont Choose Black Schools. Also, can we talk about how weird it feels to even pretend to call myself a "writer" by joining a "writing group."

As a side note, I realize it might be hard not to just die over this picture of Isaiah in his cute hat.

Lit - Flower Patch Farmgirl
Sometimes, secondhand smoke is the fragrance of Christ himself, and I pull a long drag.

I’m done with frantic. The new baseline for me: will saying yes to this require me to live in a frantic way?
About Guns - D.L. Mayfield - Women, Infants, and Children. We are nothing compared to those that whisper in the ears of the powerful. We drink our juice, and it sure does go down easy.

Sin Problems and Skin Problems - Austin Channing
Any admission that racism is a sin problem should immediately spur us into action. We could begin with lamentation, confession and repentance for starters.
Finally, I forgot to mention in this post that you can follow/friend me on Goodreads if you want to see everything I'm reading these days. And thanks for the book recommendations, by the way!

This is part of a 31 day series Finding the Pretty in the Gritty. Each day this month, I'll be writing on how I am finding pretty, even when things are gritty. Click here for a list of all the posts in the series. Or if you want to make sure you don't miss a day, feel free to subscribe (link on the right).
