Merry and Bright

Our small group had our yearly Christmas dinner/gift-exchange this week . . . on my birthday. Which is a little lame. However, when I pointed this out, Clark said: "That's fine, we can celebrate your birthday instead. If you think your birthday is more important than Jesus'." Oh. Right.

Anyways, we opted for the joint celebration of BOTH birthdays (with the emphasis on Jesus' of course). Which means that in addition to a gift exchange and other Christmas-y stuff, our party had macaroni and cheese, diet coke, and a cookie dough pie. Cookie dough pie people. Amazing.

Here's the group shot. It was quite humorous watching us try to take this. But the outtakes are entirely too horrendous of me to post on the internet. So I will spare you all and simply allow you to use your imaginations (and in your imaginations, please imagine me looking beautiful and poised).
Oh look! A lovely coffee cup that looks like a cowboy hat. It even has a built in saucer and says "save a horse, ride a cowboy." Classy.
Who wouldn't want a Georgia Snuggie? Go Dawgs! I might wear it all day while he's at work.
Here's my sweet friend Jen with her baby girl Nora. Who may or may not have made me consider having another baby.
Apparently Adam likes her too. But look at those squishy cheeks - who could resist them?Adam and I with our sweet loot, under my birthday sign. Please ignore the creeper in the background. We don't know him.
All the gals with our squinty eyes. I blame the photographer, he must not have counted to three correctly.

I have approximately 62 more pictures, but I'll spare you for now. Less than a week til Christmas!

  6. Yep, I spotted the Jayci pic, too, and knew that it was her before I even saw the title! And I MEANT to come over here and say "wooot woot!" but my sad, menopausal brain forgot. My heart didn't, though. ANYWAY... Happy Birthday!! Awww, to get to share a party with JESUS? How awesomely cool is that? You are one lucky chica is all I got to say. Well, obviously that wasn't ALL that I had to say, but you know what I mean. *sigh* Have you noticed that the further into menopause I go, the more it becomes a ramble instead of a brisk walk? scary. And oh.. the hat mug? Really funny.. but at a church gift exchange? oh. yeah.. I must be gettin' old...
